This is probably the only art supply I have used to draw and sketch with for most of my life: the simple, classic, universally loved pencil.
Even as a child, I loved to sketch, draw, and shade with a simple HB pencil (often from my school bag), and I drew and doodled everything that came to mind (often during class). So my first works of art were created in school notebooks, so to speak.
My admiration for simple black-and-white sketches, preferably extremely precise and accurate, has grown over the years. Whenever I'm on a plane or train or traveling somewhere, I have a pencil and some paper with me.
