Watercolor

Some of my favorite artists are masters of this technique: watercolor painting. It may look and seem simple, but watercolors are incredibly difficult to work with and unpredictable! Not only does the paper (the weight, grain, color) play a role, but also the pigments (a blue tone may react very differently to water than a yellow tone), and mistakes cannot be undone. You only get one try; it's a matter of luck or bad luck. But when done right, the lightness and airiness of watercolors are truly beautiful and make for gorgeous small-scale illustrations in a glass frame.
